What inspired you to become a Veterinary Practice Manager?
Like many others in the veterinary industry, I started working here due to my love for animals. I continued and became manager for my love for helping people. Most people think that the veterinary industry is mainly working with animals, but a large part of the job is working with pet parents and helping them and their beloved fur babies through both very hard times and great times in their lives.
Do you have any pets of your own?
I own 5 rescue cats of all different ages, and they all come with their own problems, from diabetes to epilepsy. This is one of the main reasons I respect vets so much; they have helped my babies enjoy full and happy lives even with their conditions.
What do you love most about working in this community?
The way that no matter what happens, the team bands together to help fur babies and their parents through tough times. Each and every day they are faced with hard decisions and long hours, and they do not mind at all as long as they can help.
What’s one piece of advice you wish that every pet owner knew?
What is recommended is always for the welfare and health of their fur baby. The vets and nurses love animals more than their career, and the only thing they want to see is them walking out the door with their concerns addressed and their fur baby happy.
Do you have a favourite animal?
I would have to say cats, people say they do not love as much as other animals, but mine follow me from room to room. They have got me through some very tough times and I would do anything for them. Plus the amount of personality they emit also has me laughing on a day-to-day basis. They are what get me up each morning, even if somewhat early and keep me going throughout the day so I can get home to them.
